In the early 80s there were a group of girls who were "little sisters" of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity who decided to begin their own sorority. In 1987 a group of 12 women founded Delta Chi Omega and were very involved in campus events. By 1990 dean of student affairs said that all 3 local sororities were no longer being permitted due to liability issues. Delta Chi Omega interviewed about 10 different national sororities and it seems fate kept steering them back to one; Phi Sigma Sigma. The Zeta Mu Chapter was granted their charter on November 16, 1991.
Almost immediately after its founding at Florida Atlantic, Phi Sig became one of the leading organizations on campus. Some of our outstanding achievements include highest G.P.A. among the four sororities on campus, outstanding Greek President twice, Homecoming Queen twice and a president who was a founding member of Order of Omega.
Our open motto is Diokete Hupsala which translates to "Aim High". The sisters of this chapter are aiming higher than ever to take their academic, social, and leadership skills to the next level. With this motto backing us and the guidance of our fellow sisters there is nothing we cannot achieve.
Congratulations to our 10 new Alpha Pi "Apple Pie" Sisters!!
*The word "Greek" here refers to a Fraternity or Sorority Affiliation. You may view our awards section for more info as well.
